October Group Activity Submissions Part 2

This isn't exactly the October project, but being that I actually completed something, I thought I'd share it with you.  These are the notebook covers that Jillian (Jilliansway) asked for.  She's a left-handed wonder, so it's a little awkward running around with a spiral notebook backward.  These fit a regular size spiral notebook like a book cover did when we were in school.  They have pockets on the inside for easy storage.  Each is slightly different in true handmade style.  The purple one has a working button closure that says Imagine.  The pink one is for her daughter (another lefty) and instead of a true button closure, it has Velcro.  The green also has Velcro, but I hand stitched a J on the flap.  My husband was truly impressed seeing me do this.
Actually, I now want to make a few of these for my friends for Christmas.  I have a few who would appreciate them.
Beginning inspiration and pattern are from here.  I changed the closure from the ribbon to a fabric one and added fusible pellon to the back of the white lining to add stiffness.  I also didn't like the raw look in the binding of the first one I made, so I ended up lining where the spiral spine goes.  You can't see this in the pictures, and I'm not sure if it was something I really should have done, but it's done now, lol.  We shall see how Jillian likes it.
